With tourettes syndrome, mostly people with the condition feel compelled to shout or say words which have a strong emotional response connected with them. Obviously swear words have strong emotional responses connected with them, although sufferers also yelp, scream, shout incomprehensibly, say random words (i.e. possibly toast if fancying some toast when hungry). They also may have twitches and a tendency to spit. It's actually a rather complex disease that you don't start having, you have it from birth.
